as others have commented, there should be fewer cognates ( or very near cognates) glossed. Other more relevant words that are essential for understanding the videos should be glossed instead. Example: In the piece about horse meat being detected in frozen beef dishes, the word international doesnt need to be glossed, but confondre should be glossed. The word viande and/or cheval might be glossed.

This is a great app, so far I only have the free version installed, but I will be upgrading to the full version very soon because I can see that this app can do wonders for my advancement in French. Update: I bought the app and I do still like it; however, I would like to see less cognitives words glossed, and see words that I actually dont know glosses.

I like it as I can learn French now any where with the update news. Although there is some limiting, I can learn as much as can.

The free version works nicely. I recommend it. The paid version is not so good. The updates often make it inoperable. The free version is worth it, but the paid version is a headache, unless you like splash screens that never load.

I was looking to hear native french this is great for that!

Had some problems at first, but have had no problems since. Great for AP/IB practice! Highly recommend.

The stories are relevant and short enough that I can work them into my busy schedule.

This is perfect for preparing for my weekly french quizzes. Translations of each word would be nice, though.

yeah it crashes sometimes and if you have the videos enlarged once they finish there is no way of going back to the main menu you are just frozen there with a black screen then i have to hit the home button and restart the program but... ALL THAT ASIDE it is a wonderful program for learning everyday, conversational, political, erudite vocabulary i love it!!!!

I look forward to the new news story weekly. It really helps you learn and think. First read the definitions, then read the article and then listen! That is my formula . Try it

Suddenly my app wont open. Can this be fixed?

I love this little app -- started using it a month ago, and I look forward to it every week! However, it keeps crashing upon opening --started last week. Ive deleted and reloaded, rebooted, etc. it seems that others are having a similar issue. Once this issue is resolved, my rating goes to five stars, and Im upgrading to the full version!

This was an amazing app, but has been crashing on my phone for weeks now. Also, my in-purchase app didnt transfer to my iPhone--help please!

It used to work. I paid for it, and it worked for few weeks. Now it opens and closes immediately. A shoddy product, no doubt.

I paid the $4.99 to get all three topics on two separate occasions but when I download the latest updates,I am back to only one topic. Why does this keep happening?

There is big different between the app exercises and the web exercises The app focus on vocabulary and words writing without listening practice , when the web practices is more varied and comprehensive than the app, so why those big different between them ??

Audio is not working

The update is even better! Startup time is very short, the interface is nice and new, and the icon is very fun. :) Same good old app, just better.
